If your question is about a specific notary service, like Apostilles, POAs, or loan signings, please visit our Services Page FAQ.
This page is designed to answer general questions about how we operate, schedule appointments, and protect your information.
Please reach us at certigonotary@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
A: Ready Sign Notary serves clients throughout the Chicagoland area. We’re based in Oak Lawn, IL, but travel to nearby suburbs as part of our mobile services. If you’re unsure whether we cover your area, just reach out and ask — we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
A: We accept cash, credit/debit cards, Zelle, and other major mobile payment apps. Payment is due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made.
A: Yes, a current government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport) is required for all notarizations. Expired IDs cannot be accepted.
A: We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance, but we also accommodate same-day or last-minute requests whenever possible. The more notice you give, the better we can serve you.
A: We understand that plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us at least 4 hours before your appointment to avoid a cancellation fee.
A: Yes, we provide notary services at hospitals, long-term care facilities, and correctional institutions — as long as the signer is coherent, willing, and has valid ID. Please let us know the specific facility so we can make the appropriate arrangements.
A: No, we do not retain or make copies of your private documents unless required by law. Your privacy and confidentiality are a top priority.
A: Yes, all Ready Sign Notary professionals are commissioned by the State of Illinois and carry active notary bonds. Some of our notaries also carry Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance for added protection.
A: Yes, after-hours and weekend appointments may be available by request. Additional fees may apply for services outside normal business hours.
A: We allow a 10-minute grace period. After that, a late fee may apply or the appointment may need to be rescheduled based on availability.
A: Most appointments take about 10–15 minutes per document. If you have multiple forms or special circumstances, we’ll let you know if extra time is needed.
A: Yes, as long as the notary and signer both understand the language. Our team speaks both English and Spanish, and we’re happy to assist bilingual clients.
A: We cannot notarize blank or incomplete documents, vital records (like birth certificates), or anything the signer does not understand or appear willing to sign.
A: That’s exactly how it should be! Documents must be signed in the presence of the notary. If you sign it ahead of time, we may not be able to proceed.
A: Sometimes. Witnesses must be impartial and not related to the document. Let us know in advance and we’ll do our best to arrange someone if available.
A: A notary public verifies identity and witness signatures — they do not give legal advice or interpret legal documents. For legal guidance, always consult an attorney.
A: At this time, we do not offer remote online notarization (RON). All services are in-person to ensure security and compliance with Illinois law.
A: We’re exploring this option for future services. Let us know if you're interested, and we’ll keep you posted when it's available.
A: We can only notarize documents that you fully understand and are willing to sign. If you’re unsure about any part of your paperwork, we recommend reviewing it with an attorney first.
A: Yes, absolutely. We frequently notarize multiple documents during one appointment. Let us know ahead of time so we can give you an accurate time and pricing estimate.
A: We can usually accommodate same-day requests if you contact us before noon. Evening or last-minute appointments are subject to availability and may include a rush fee.
A: Yes. We work with real estate offices, law firms, and businesses on an ongoing basis. Contact us to discuss discounted rates or custom agreements.
